Current project by europlac:
Zuelpich/Tettnang. europlac, a manufacturer of real wood veneered materials based in Tettnang, Baden-Württemberg, has given the ‘Fernblick' hotel in Vorarlberg, Austria, a new modern yet natural look with the finest veneer.
The project - in a picturesque setting in a building that is more than 100 years old - used europlac's ‘Varioplex' material made of smoked oak and high-quality wall and furniture cladding made of beam oak in stone grey. "The aesthetic and functional highlight is the ceiling design of the hotel restaurant Horizont. The wave-shaped panels made of smoked oak blend seamlessly with the soft earth tones and golden design elements of the interior and acoustically enhance the character of this retreat," explains europlac Managing Director Marina Röhr, adding: ‘Restaurant guests can now enjoy the panorama of the Montafon mountains surrounded by the special aura of real wood - a magical ambience for an unforgettable dinner.' The second part of the renovation involved the use of real wood veneer in stone-grey beam oak for wall and furniture cladding in the bar and dining areas, as well as in the newly designed hotel rooms. "A special method of dyeing the veneers was used to achieve a uniform colouring that would not have been possible with conventional techniques such as staining. In addition, the cracks and knots in the beam oak were pre-filled with black filler at the factory,‘ says Röhr. The appropriate carrier board from the europlac product range was used for different areas of application. 'The result is an interior with timeless aesthetics that harmoniously combines comfort and style. The stone-grey wood surfaces give the rooms a calming and elegant aura. The finely tuned grain and soft grey create a soothing atmosphere that impressively reflects the exclusive wellness standards of the hotel,‘ says the entrepreneur. IFN Managing Director Dirk-Uwe Klass concludes: 'Environmentally conscious and modern - only veneer can create such a combination of nature and elegance in such an outstanding way." IFN/DS
